My Son's Birthday Party

Hello everyone. I am tired tonight. We successfully pulled off this party. Nine boys ages 10 and under plus my son spent the night in my basement last night. I did not say "slept over" because they were all awake until 5 am. Who stays up until 5 am?? Now we know. We gave them pop, pizza, cake and chips. We also gave then video games and Nerf guns, all this kept them busy from 6pm until 5 am. I love it! Most importantly, Grant had a great time hanging out with is friends and I think his friends had a great time too! There were a few squabbles, nothing big. And what is it about boys wanting to constantly wrestle one another? Is this genetic, ingrained and they can't help themselves? I don't know, but I told them numerous times to stop wrestling. Needless to say, Grant was very tired today. And he did not argue about his 8pm bedtime tonight either. So, if any of you have the opportunity to experience the pleasure of a childhood sleep over, please do so. Remember your own and try not to be one of those grumpy mom's or dad's that we all knew. We will most definitely do it again! Enjoy the pictures.

Starting Out

Ok, I am new to this. I am trying it out. I know I may be the last person in her 30's with kids that has not blogged yet. I guess I have not found it necessary up to this point. I will see how life changing this is and go from there.
I am attempting to emotionally prepare myself for my son's 8TH birthday party. It will consist of 11 boys under the age of 10. Ouch, what was I thinking? But, I know it will be a good time if I just surrender to the flow and realize the night is not about me! We are trying to be good parents and make fun memories for our kids. I hope...More will be revealed in time.
Pizza Hut and Cold Stone Creamery got quite a bit of our money today. My 3 year old daughter has not had a nap and one kid came to the party 7 hours early. Huh? Whatever.
